'Legalsense did not shy away from our specific requirements'

The Belgian niche firm Quinz has certain clients with specific requirements regarding the billing process. Among other reasons to meet these client needs, Quinz was looking for software to support them. “Legalsense was clearly the best positioned to adapt the software to our needs. Our billing process now runs smoothly in a user- and client-friendly way.”

One central settlement

Quinz specializes in four areas of law and occasionally needs to use a different billing method for certain clients. Until the beginning of this year, the firm worked with a variety of administrative and billing tools for this purpose. That had to change. The firm was looking for one central system from which the entire financial administration – and its settlement – would take place. Several providers were critically reviewed, but ultimately only one remained: Legalsense. “Legalsense integrates seamlessly with Basecone and Exact Online, creating a fully connected workflow for us.”

Legalsense has proven capable of adapting the software to the needs of our clients.

Flexible to client needs

Florence: “The great advantage of Legalsense is that it is adaptable. With other providers, we had to make do with the package as presented. We could tweak the application a little, but customization was not possible. Legalsense adjusted the software in such a way that we can now bill and report per practice area as our clients expect. This benefits not only user-friendliness but also client-friendliness. Legalsense has proven capable of adapting the software to the needs of our clients.” Florence adds with a smile: “And to the needs of the Belgian market.”

Florence refers to the fact that Quinz is one of Legalsense’s first Belgian clients of this size. “Our terminology differs slightly from that used in the Netherlands. In addition, we wanted to issue invoices in three languages: Dutch, French and English. Legalsense adapted the software to the Belgian market and created solid support for multiple languages and multiple invoice templates.”

A bit of a gamble

According to Florence, it was somewhat of a gamble to choose a provider that was still relatively new to the Belgian market. There were no comparable reference firms in the country for Quinz. “Still, our confidence in the Legalsense team and the software itself made the difference.”

According to Florence, Legalsense is characterized by a personal approach from a team that consists of the same people in every phase. “Legalsense has a proactive helpdesk, and you get the feeling you really know the people. That was certainly an advantage during the implementation. ”The go live, after all, took place during Belgium’s complete lockdown — according to Florence, a very exceptional situation that went remarkably well.

Even the rate tables were migrated from the previous system using an algorithm written by Legalsense.
